About Us

Learn more about what we do

The Judy Drive In was built in the Spring of 1952, opening for business on July 2, 1952 with the first weekend in operation Friday July 4, 1952. It is this date, we celebrate at not only our Nation's Birthday, but that of the grand lady herself. Although we refer to the theatre as Judy or "she", the theatre is not named after a lady at all. In this case Judy is not a who, but rather a where. Judy, Kentucky is a small community three miles from the city limits of Mount Sterling, and it is the community the theatre takes it's name from. The theatre has been in continuous operation seasonally ever since. The Judy Drive In has long been a "Mom and Pop" business, always in local ownership.
